Why I Chose It
I’ve picked out the Lovense Lapis as the Test Winner for this review because it’s a great quality product that offers pretty powerful vibrations. Better yet, these vibrations can be controlled via the Lovense Remote app and unlock unlimited vibration patterns. This also allows you to use the strapless strap-on as a pretty versatile long-distance toy. It works well as both an external and internal vibrator for solo play, and can be used both vaginally and anally.
Our tester, Joseph, had a great time with the Lovense Lapis: “As someone who ’s not typically a top, I found its powerful vibrations incredibly satisfying, offering a unique blend of pleasure. The softness of the silicone adds a luxurious feel, and its quietness is a huge plus.”
Although, the biggest challenge was that maintaining its position without a harness was a bit difficult. This is a pretty common issue with a lot of strapless strap-ons. They jsut aren’t as easy to keep in compared to the ease of wearing a harness. So, to make things a lot easier during long sessions especially, Joseph recommended using it in a strap-on harness.
Runner-Up Strap-On-Me Bendable Strap-On Small
- Silicone strapless strap-on
- Slim and smooth dildo with a very pronounced tip
- Insertable pony is girthy and egg-shaped
- Fully adjustable hinge.
Specifications
Pros
- ✅ Great for beginners
- ✅ Variety of sizes to choose from
- ✅ Very simple and easy to use
- ✅ Puts a lot of pressure on the wearer's g-spot
Cons
- ❌ Dildo is a bit floppy and can be tricky to control
Why I Chose It
I’ve had the pleasure of testing out the Strap-On-Me Bendable Strap-On Small myself. All I can say is: wow! Even though it’s a fairly simple, silicone toy that doesn’t offer vibrations or any special features, it feels amazing and you can tell that it’s a high quality construction.
I really enjoy internal vaginal stimulation and appreciate some g-spot pampering, and that was definitely the case with this strap-on. The egg-shaped insertable pony puts the perfect amount of pressure on the g-spot. My favorite part is that you can actually feel every movement in the dildo through that pony.
The dildo itself also feels very comfortable. It’s quite flexible and floppy so it’s a bit unruly at times but once it’s inserted it’s easily manageable. The slim and smooth design makes it very beginner-friendly and perfect for first-time peggers. Although the pronounced tip will still deliver plenty of internal massage.
Budget-Friendly Lovehoney Desire Luxury Strapless Strap-On
- Vibrating strapless strap-on
- Silicone “rabbit ears” to stimulate the wearer’s clitoris
- 20 different vibration settings.
Specifications
Pros
- ✅ Vibrations in both ends can be controlled separately
- ✅ Adjustable angle
- ✅ Versatile use (g-spot vibrator, rabbit vibrator, vibrating dildo etc.)
- ✅ Additional clitoral stimulation
Cons
- ❌ May be too rigid for some
- ❌ The placement of the rabbit ears won't necessarily fit all bodies
- ❌ Difficult to access controls when in use
Why I Chose It
From the velvety smooth silicone to the lockable storage case that lets you charge your toy discreetly, you are getting a truly luxurious experience with this strapless strap-on. It’s also the only product in this review that offers extra clitoral stimulation with the rabbit ears. Now, rabbit vibrators may not be a good fit for everyone, but for those who already know that they love the sensation of these silicone nubs vibrating around the clit, this strapless strap-on could be a great choice.
Our tester, Vicki, loved how the intense vibrations amped up the stimulation for both partners. She also found that the strap-on works very well for solo pleasure as well! “I pleasantly discovered that this toy could be used as two separate toys too: G-spot vibrator and a vibrating dildo! The top bit for G spot can be adjusted too so it is easier to put on the exact right spot to achieve maximum amounts of pleasure.” This is also why it’s nice to be able to control the vibrations in both ends of the toy separately.
One downside for me is that the controls are located on the bottom of the toy and are difficult to access when you are already in the swing of things. For this price, I think it would be fair to expect a remote control. Now, especially because of the rabbit ears, I would recommend using this strap-on with a harness. This way you’ll be sure that those rabbit ears stay in position while you’re thrusting.

Things to Consider When Choosing a Strapless Strap-On
- Size — You will want to choose a strapless strap-on that fits both partners so be sure to check the size of the shaft and the insertable bulb.
- Shape — The shape of a strapless strap on can be a defining factor in pleasure. If you prefer something that targets the G-spot or p-spot, you’ll want a strapless strap on with a curved shaft.
- Materials — Opt for a body-safe material, like silicone to keep you and your partner safe.
- Realism — Do you love the phallic look, or do you prefer neutral shaft designs? Choose between a realistic design or something more abstract.
- Vibrations — Do want the added stimulation of vibrations? You can choose between a strapless strap-on with a motor inside or one with a removable bullet vibrator.
- Flexibility and firmness — depending on the material, your strapless strap-on can be soft and flexible or completely rigid. Many find a soft or flexible silicone more comfortable but rigid strapless strap-ons tend to be easier to control.
Strapless vs Harness
If you can’t choose between a strapless strap-on and a strap-on kit with a harness, there are a few things you should consider before making your decision.
- Strapless strap-ons provide pleasure for both partners and can feel more intimate, as there are no straps in the way. However, there is a learning curve when using a strapless strap-on as they can be difficult to hold in the vagina, and can take some strong vaginal muscles to keep secure! If you’re wondering about how to secure a strapless strap on, you can check out our dedicated guide on how to use a strapless strap on for more detailed information.
- A strap-on with a harness offers more stability and can also look visibly sexy with its straps and buckles against the skin, but it offers little to no physical stimulation for the wearer. It can also feel less intimate with the straps between you and takes time to put on!
How Do Strapless Strap-Ons Work?
If all this talk of strapless strap-ons, bulbs, and shafts has left you a little confused, you aren’t alone! Strapless strap-ons can be a bit difficult to get your head around, so I’m going to break it down for you here.
Essentially, the bulb is inserted into the vagina of the wearer and held in place by squeezing the pelvic floor muscles. This can be both tricky and tiring, so using a harness can ease the strain and help stabilize your strapless strap-on.
Once in place, they can then use the other end to penetrate their partner vaginally or anally or even explore strap-on blow jobs!
The bulb
Also known as a pony or saddle, the bulb is worn inside the wearer’s vagina. The curve and bulbed shape helps to keep it in place and can provide some internal/g-spot stimulation. Some bulbs also vibrate. Different shaped bulbs will work better for different bodies.
The shaft
This is the part that will penetrate the receiving partner. Like all dildos, the shaft comes in a wide range of sizes and designs, including realistic and non-phallic. They can be textured for extra stimulation or have added vibrations.
Bullet vibrator & clitoral stimulator
Some strapless strap-ons have removable bullet vibrators that slip into the base. There are also some with built in vibrations and even remote controls.
Another common feature is a bump or textured pad for added clitoral stimulation, although it can be hard to get these in the right position.
Types of Strapless Strap-Ons
Let’s take a closer look at the different types of strapless strap-on so you know exactly which one will be your ride or die!
Posable/adjustable strapless strap-ons
Posable strapless strap-ons allow you to adjust the angle of the pony, the shaft, or both. This makes it easier to find the right angle to hold the strapless strap-on in place and adjust the angle of penetration in different sex positions.
Vibrating strapless strap-ons
Vibrating strap-ons can either have a removable bullet that’s inserted into the base of the toy or built-in vibrating motors. The vibrations can be focused in the shaft, the bulb, or both.
Realistic strapless strap-ons
Realistic strap-ons have a realistic design and lifelike textural details to create the look and feel of a real penis. They are also great for trans men who want their strap-on to look and feel as real as possible and can help ease gender dysphoria.
Rabbit-style strapless strap-ons
Rabbit style strap-ons have a set of rabbit ears that deliver vibrations to the wearer’s clitoris. This can be a great addition as the stimulation you get from the bulb isn’t always enough to help you reach orgasm.
Strapless Strap-on vs Double Dildo: What's the Difference?
Sure both of these fantastically phallic toys feature two ends and can be used for vaginal and anal penetration.
But, there are some key differences between the design and usage of strapless dildos and double dildos.
Which one you buy depends on how you want to use it!
Strapless strap-ons or harness free strap-ons
- Smaller bulb for the wearer + regular shaft for the receiver
- Suited to vaginal and anal penetration, including pegging
- Tend to be more rigid and posable
- Can be vibrating or non-vibrating
Double-ended dildos or double dongs
- Can be used for solo pleasure
- Good for solo double penetration
- Can be used for couple play but works better for vaginal penetration
- Can be long and flexible or rigid and U-shaped
- Most are non-vibrating
Do Strapless Strap-Ons Actually Stay In?
Although strapless strap-ons are designed to be worn without a harness, most people will struggle to make this work for them.
And when you think about the practicalities, this makes sense — your vaginal and anal muscles are pretty strong and the wearer tends to have the smaller part so it’s more likely to fall out.
The problem with strapless strap-ons
The magic of the vagina means that the more it gets turned on the wetter and therefore, the more slippery it gets. Add that to the effect of gravity and you’ve got a lot of things working against you, even if you do kegel CrossFit seven days a week!
All these issues are amplified when you are using your strapless dildo for anal penetration as the muscles in the vagina are no match for those super-strength sphincter muscles.
The solution
This means that most people will still need to use a strap-on harness with an open o-ring to help keep their strapless strap-on in place and be able to enjoy a good range of movement.
The Spareparts Joque is a really great harness to use with your strapless strap-on! It’s comfortable and gives you a lot more control!
A Guide to Strapless Strap-On Materials
Size and style are important when it comes to choosing a strapless strap-on but the material will also impact how the toy performs as well as it’s safety!
Here are some materials to look out for and which ones to avoid!
Safe materials
- Silicone — this is the most popular material because it feels soft and body safe! It can be firm or soft, depending on the strapless strap-on.
- ABS plastic, is also body safe, but many people find the rigidity uncomfortable in a strapless strap-on.
Materials to avoid
As your strapless strap-on is being shared and coming into contact with very sensitive, absorbent areas you should avoid materials that are porous and/or contain harmful substances such as:
- TPE/TPR
- Jelly
- Rubber
- PVC
- Soft plastics
- Silicone blends
