Design

The intricate rippling textures and marbled colors of the Synstyl Grinder are mesmerising to look at! While I've never been into the idea of alien role play, I really love the otherworldly vulva design and I find it sexy and intriguing. I also think it could be fun for simulating oral sex. It's also really fun that you can design your own custom color combinations! I requested the color that's on the website simply because I loved the vibrant swirls of orange and pink. The only thing that I'm not a massive fan of is the black nylon straps. I would love if they came in a different colour or in silicone, but that's a very small detail that doesn't detract from the overall design that much.

Ease of Use

The addition of straps makes this a much more versatile grinding toy! I love that I can strap it to one of my Wanda sex toy mount, to a chair, or to my partner's body. It can take a little experimentation to find the right position The depth of the textured pad also makes it easier to get a good amount of contact. The silicone feels a little tacky, but a small amount of water-based lube actually goes quite a long way, which is always nice!

Quality

I really cannot fault the quality of Uncover Creation's work! This grinder is a beautiful piece of silicone art! There are no imperfections in the silicone and it's delightfully soft and squishy. As it's one piece of silicone, it feels very sturdy. The only weak points are the holes where the straps feed through, so I am a bit cautious not to pull on them too hard.

Price

Considering each item is hand-poured, based on your custom color and firmness options, I think the price is very reasonable. With the correct care it's also going to be a toy that lasts a long time. Plus, it came with a free mini grinder that has taken pride of place on my bits and bobs shelf. On top of that, with each order, you get a 20% discount code for your next order.

Performance

I opted for the squishy soft silicone option and I'm SO happy I did! The soft ripples have just the right amount of texture and I really like that they have some movement to them. As well as the rippling texture of the all the ridges, the opening in the center creates suction-like feel. The whole experience feels a little like riding a partner's face. The depth of the pad also works really well and allows for a good amount of contact. The center is firm enough that it holds it shape even while sitting on top of it.

Packaging

The Synstyl Grinder came packaged in a plain brown box and inside the grinder was wrapped in black tissue with an Uncover Creations label on the front. Aside from some recyclable packing protection, there was a mini grinder and hand signed note. I loved the thoughtful extra features and that there was no plastic!

Materials and care

The grinder is made from premium quality silicone, making it non-porous and body-safe. It's best used with a squirt of water-based lube but I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need to use much. While silicone is easy to care for with soap and water, all of the ridges require more attention when cleaning. I like to use some fragrance free soap and water and really lather up the whole grinder, making sure to get in all the small ripples. You could also use a very soft cloth or sponge but I would avoid using anything that could damage the soft silicone. After drying it with a towel, I also leave it out to air dry so it's not damp when I put it away. It's a little tricky to keep the straps dry so they need time to dry as well. You could take them out if you want to boil the silicone though but it's a little too much effort to do each time you use it. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a storage bag — that would have been the icing on the cake!
