We-Vibe Jive 2 Review

Personal Experience

The We-Vibe Jive 2 is a fun, hands free toy that you can even take on the go for a good time. This pocket sized toy is designed to be inserted, and enjoyed for long-term play. The Jive 2 links to an app where you and/or your partner can do more than just take advantage of the 10 different pre-programed vibration settings; you can set the vibrations to music, and even control it with your voice.

At The Beginning

To start your play with the Jive 2, simply apply lube, and insert the large bulb end into the vagina. The tail to keep it stable rests against the front (the pubic mound), and has the on/off button, as well as the magnetic charging points. I found the need to do some adjusting when I first inserted it, just to make it sit comfortably. I recommend taking the time to just play around with the fit and the controls before you jump into anything goal-oriented. I didn’t really take the time to learn the features beforehand, and it stalled out the mood more than once, trying to figure out what was available and what I enjoyed.  The toy, when fully charged, can run for 3-4 hours of play, if you have the stamina for it. Once inserted, you can use the remote that it comes with, or you can connect it to the app. You can only do one or the other, not both. With the remote that you receive with the toy, you can only cycle through the pre-set settings, which may be enough for you, but it didn’t do much for me. But, to get truly spicy with this toy, you can connect to the app to access all of the various features that feel limitless once you start browsing, and buzzing through it.

The App Of Your Imagination

The Jive 2, when connected to the app, has almost limitless possibilities. The vibrations of the toy can be manipulated in multiple ways, in multiple forms. There are 10 pre-set settings, but once in the app, you can control the intensity, as well as choose you vibration setting, and create your own new vibration sequence that works for you. There is also a “touch mode” that creates vibration by the pattern you make with your finger on the screen. I wish this feature had been a little more powerful in the vibrations, because it was a lot of fun to play with on the app. The advanced settings, that you can access for free, contain a “beats mode” that lets you sync your vibrations to the music (and more than that, you can change it to follow the bass, treble, or midrange) and create playlists for extended play. This is the feature that I was most excited to find, but you really have to curate whether the bass, midrange, or treble is going to give you the most vibration on a song-by-song basis. For instance; I used Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics, and all of the vibrations seemed to be in the treble setting. I did not anticipate that. There is also an “ambient mode” where you can speak into the microphone of your phone, and it will create vibrations in the inserted bulb. This creates a lot of fun when using it with your partner. Letting your partner’s voice control the vibrations happening deep inside of you; that is a whole new game, especially when using it any kink setting.

Small Complaints

I do have a few things that I think could improv the Jive 2. First, I personally think that the bulb could be smaller, in order to be more comfortable for extended use. After more than about 10mins, I didn’t want to have it inserted anymore. My partner tried it, and they didn’t have an issue, so this may just be me. Second, I would prefer to have some sort of clitoral stimulation. I thought maybe that the tail might be for clitoral stimulation, because you can feel the vibrations throughout the structure of it, but it is much too long to fit comfortably inside the labia. I would like something that extends from the tail just for that little extra stimulation. Third, the vibrations of the Jive 2 are not very intense, and for myself, without the clitoral stimulation, the internal vibrations aren’t really enough to offer more than just some pleasant sensation. I did not achieve orgasm with this toy. However, my partner did, with some manual help, so it may be particular to the person. And fourth, I had some trouble getting and keeping the toy connected to the app sometimes. The Bluetooth connection was solid when it was good, but it would occasionally drop out for a few seconds, which paused the momentum when trying to re-connect. This problem is more apparent when using the distance feature; one person can have the toy inserted and be out in public, and a partner can be controlling it with the app from home, or vice-versa. Unfortunately, if the Bluetooth disconnects while you’re out and about playing, it can take a coordinated phone call to get it back on track.
