Why I Chose It
The b-Vibe Novice was a clear test winner for me! B-Vibe specifically designed this toy to be ultra beginner-friendly, and they did a great job at that! Its thin and tiny shape will be perfect for a total newbie who has no previous anal experience. Our tester and sexpert Cassie, said, “It’s surprisingly beginner-friendly, easy to insert, and comfortable to wear – even for longer periods of time.”
What makes the Bootie Fem special is the tulip design. The producer claims that it’s made to help angle any vaginal penetration to better target the G-spot. However, Cassie wasn’t so impressed by this feature: “Now, I like the concept of this, but I definitely wasn’t sold on it in practice. Why I Chose It
The Lovehoney Butt Tingler is a super simple vibrating butt plug that will be a perfect choice for beginners. It’s small, slim, and very easy to operate. According to our tester, Emiel, the butt plug “was slim enough that I didn’t feel any uncomfortable pressure during this, which has sometimes happened in the past with double penetration.”
But because of its cheap price, the quality of the vibrations isn’t the best. Because the Butt Tingler is batter-operated, the vibrations aren’t super powerful and quite buzzy: “There were definitely 3 speeds and different vibration patterns, but it didn’t feel like much even on the highest speed.”

Why I Chose It
If you want to splurge a little, I think the We-Vibe Ditto+ is a great candidate. It’s specifically designed to be a wearable butt plug, so if you enjoy wearing anal toys in public, or are looking for the most comfortable plug, you will love the Ditto+. Here is what our tester, Daphne, said about the design: “The angle is great, and the flexibility allowed me to move around, sit, stand, walk, lie down, turn over in bed, use a dildo vaginally simultaneously, and it stayed in.”
When it comes to vibrations, they were described as powerful and rumbly, but not overwhelmingly strong, which, in my opinion, is the best combination for beginners. Why I Chose It
The njoy Pure Plug is definitely the most luxurious butt plug on this list. I personally love all kinds of metal sex toys. A metal dildo has been my favorite insertable toy for a long time, and there is no other toy that can compete with the sensation that metal provides. They are smooth, filling, and perfect for temperature play. And the njoy Pure Plug is the best introduction to metal butt plugs! The size might look a bit intimidating for beginners, but because of its angled design with a thinner neck, it feels really comfortable. According to our tester, Rachel: “The bulbous head stretches you a little bit more as you insert it, but then it actually feels much more comfortable to wear! Why I Chose It
I had the pleasure of testing the Icicles No. 48, and I love everything about it! I think it’s going to be a great choice for beginners looking to explore the wonders of glass butt plugs!
I definitely fell in love with this toy because of its adorable design, but the stimulation it provides is just as amazing! The cool sensation of the glass and its firmness feel amazing. As I am not an anal pro, I was a bit worried that the firmness might be too much for me, but the lack of flexibility and slightly tapered tip actually made the insertion much easier. The smoothness of the glass also helped. I also enjoyed warming it up first to get the warm sensation on my skin, which I highly recommend trying, especially during foreplay.
Wearing it felt great as well, although I wouldn’t recommend it as a wearable plug because the daisy base isn’t the most comfortable to sit on.
All in all, there is nothing negative I have to say about this glass butt plug. The design is simple yet effective, and the cute flowery aesthetic is very encouraging to try anal play, even if you are a bit afraid to try it.

Why I Chose It
The We-Vibe Vector+ is the best beginner-friendly option for prostate owners! I chose it specifically because of its special design, where the angle of the tip is supposed to provide precise P-spot stimulation. And according to our tester, Robby, it’s worked perfectly: “As soon as I put it in, I feel the most incredible and breathtaking pressure on my prostate. It isn’t overwhelming and the shape of the vibrator’s stem stimulates my prostate very well, giving me intense pleasure.”

I am a big fan of toys that have an app control, and a physical remote to make the experience more versatile for solo and couple’s play. What you might be concerned with is the very tiny size of the plug, which seems like you can outgrow quickly, especially if you are interested in anal training. However, you can always use the We-Vibe Vector+ as a wearable plug, as it’s suitable for public play, and the We-Vibe app offers so many fun features to explore, that it’s hard to get bored of!

Important Features When Buying a Small Butt Plug
