Why I Chose It

I chose the Lovehoney Jeweled Heart Butt Plug as my overall best butt plug because it ticks all my boxes and does so much, while still being very affordable! If I was going to recommend having one butt plug in your collection, I would start with a staple like this one!

I was apprehensive about metal butt plugs before I tried one for myself, and since then, I’ve been a total convert! They have less friction than silicone and have a lovely weightiness to them.

Our tester, and fellow Bedbible sex expert Cassie, tested this one out, and called it her “Goldilocks” butt plug that “has very quickly become a favorite (and a staple) in [her] bedroom.”  

She loved that size “is perfect for [her] to use without much warm-up” while still being “very satisfying thanks to the firm, weighted metal.” As someone who hates having to spend too much time warming up for anal play, I can really appreciate a butt plug that’s easy to just to slip in and go!

She also found that the weight of the plug “adds a lovely amount of pressure during vaginal penetration” and the “cute and sexy” was the icing on the cake for her and her partner!

Why I Chose It

I own both the Snug Plug 3 and the Snug Plug 2 and stand by the claim that they are the most comfortable plugs I have found in my years of testing sex toys. The thin neck means you only feel the stretch internally and there’s no risk of it slipping out, and the barrel shape means there’s no poking your insides! Add vibrations into the mix and you’ve got a butt plug well worthy of the runner up title! Yes, the barrel shape is a little more difficult to insert but trust me on this one, it’s worth it!

Well actually, you don’t only have to trust me, we’ve actually had two different testers review the vibrating snug plug in different sizes and they both loved them!

Flora reviewed the Vibrating Snug Plug 2 that you see here and thought it was “ideal for tush teasing and public pleasing.” She loved the shape and that it “felt comfortable during long sessions.” She was surprised by the weight but enjoyed how it “enhanced the presence of the plug once inside.”

The vibrations aren’t super powerful, but the “mid-strength vibrations,” but a big plus was that “the volume proved quite discreet,” making it great for public play!

Nigel also tested out the Vibrating Snug Plug 5 and wrote that it “exceeded [his] expectations in almost every way.” His highlights were that it’s “extremely comfortable, the vibrations are highly varied with a good setting for most people and most of all it was QUIET.”

Why I Chose It

At under $15 this was by the best budget pick! I love that it doesn’t sacrifice in the design department, and I’m a big fan of the iridescent rainbow finish.

Our tester, Naomi, was also pretty taken with the “stunning” design but also “the diversity of the metal plug.” In particular, she enjoyed “the warming sensation” from heating slightly before use.

Although she loved that the small shaped and “tapered design is meant to allow for easy insertion” she did find it a little small for her level of experience and was considering getting the next size up as well.

With more experience, I actually prefer the weight of a stainless steel plug, but I would have loved this lightweight, non-intimidating plug as a first butt plug!

Why I Chose It

I reviewed the Regii butt plugs and they actually got a perfect score from me! There’s a few reasons I chose them as the best butt plug for beginners. Firstly, the smaller plug is a great starter size. I know this because my partner is new to anal toys and he found this a very comfortable size to insert and wear!

Secondly, I love that you get two as, I found that I soon I had mastered beginner level butt plugs, I found myself wanting something more substantial.

The next thing that stands out about these lovely plugs is that the taper made them much easier to insert than my more bulbed shaped plugs.

I also appreciate that they made the bases asymmetrical. It’s a small design feature that actually makes a big difference as the base doesn’t get in the way during penetrative sex.

Lastly, I have to mention Biird’s beautiful packaging! They always go the extra mile and it makes for such a lovely sex toy experience! Not to mention, the packaging and plugs have a gender neutral design!

Why I Chose It

Ah the njoy Pure Plug! My butt plug drawer over floweth, yet I still covet this shiny beast! This is high on my list of sex toys to get my hands on and was a no brainer for the best metal butt plug.

Luckily, Bedbible sex toy expert Rachel, reviewed it for us (and in no way am I jealous).  She was relatively new to anal play and found the small size just perfect for her needs, writing “It’s smooth, weighty, easy to insert and remove, and feels really, really good.” Personally, I would probably opt for the medium, but I really appreciate that it comes in three sizes.

Rachel was “pleasantly surprised” by how much she enjoyed it. It’s small enough to be easy to insert but feels “substantial and satisfying” and the handle design is actually great for use during PIV sex as it doesn’t get in the way. The only downside to the handle is that it’s not the most practical design for sitting down in.

The bulbed tip and slim neck are really great at keeping the plug where it’s meant to be and Rachel was happy “it never felt like it was slipping out or moving around too much.” 

Of all the metals used in sex toys, stainless steel is by far the best quality. It’s also one of my favorite sex toy materials altogether because there’s absolutely zero friction and the weight adds a real depth of stimulation. Not to mention, it’s basically indestructible!

Why I Chose It

Having tested the original Lovense Hush, I had no doubts in choosing the new and improved Hush 2 as the best vibrating butt plug! The Hush 2 has actually been tested by two of our tester team — Flora reviewed the Hush 2 medium and Jessie the large, and they both absolutely loved them!

Flora found that the medium was bigger than she’d imagined but “Despite the intimidating size, the ergonomic shape slid smoothly inside” and “was comfortable to wear, even during long sessions.” Another standout feature was all the fun ways to control the plug using the app. Her favorite was having it respond to music or ambient sound for what she described as “truly the most beautiful, prolonged orgasm” she’s experienced!

Jessie noted that although the Hush 2 large was firm and required some warm up, “once it was in it felt great.” He highlighted “its vibration capabilities, and its app capabilities” as the most impressive features, adding that the “vibrations feel great” but are a bit too loud for public play.

Both testers found the app and “easy to navigate” and packed full of fun features. Having tested out all of the leading sex toy apps, I can say that without a doubt the Lovense app is the best I’ve come across both in terms of stable connectivity and usability. I also really appreciate that they are constantly adding new ways of controlling the toy, such as group play or even Dom/sub controls!

Why I Chose It

Glass was another sex toy material that intimidated me until I learned more about borosilicate glass and actually tried some for myself. Now, I highly recommend it as a material for all levels of experience. Much like steel, the smoothness of glass is exactly what you want for anal play as there is no friction when inserting or removing the toy.

Kasia tested out this daisy butt plug for us and loved how much of a “a smooth ride” it was compared to silicone butt plugs. Although the plug is completely rigid, it’s still “comfortable to wear, even during sex” and the “daisy rests gently between the cheeks and looks adorable!” I will add that rigid plugs provide a lovely deep massage that you don’t get with softer plugs. 

Another reason that I chose this as the best glass butt plug is the design. I love that the weight of the glass together with “bulbous shape gives a nice filling experience” while not being overly big. And I totally agree with Kasia that “the daisy is the icing on the cake!”

Why I Chose It

I know a soft butt plug isn’t for everyone, but I had to include this one as my expert pick because it is fantastic quality and very comfortable to wear.

The squishy silicone of this egg-shaped plug is a little different to the usual solid butt plugs, but our tester Flora was over the moon with and described it as “flexible, fleshy, and fabulous.”

The softer silicone is “comfortable and satisfying during private play” and although the base is a little larger than other plugs but Flora found that it “squished comfortably between the cheeks.” This is definitely a plug I would consider for long term wear.

The egg shaped design also makes it comfortable to sit down in and Flora found that the “sensation feels like a realistic dildo, and it’s a pleasure to squeeze.”

The only real downside to the design is that the “soft silicone required some finesse to insert” due to it giving way under pressure.

Why I Chose It

I think this is fantastic set for anal training. They are simple but effective and the cute gem is a nice touch! The bulbed shape is fantastic at providing a nice fullness and stretch internally but I love that they’ve kept the neck slim, as really helps preventing the plugs from slipping out.

I also appreciate that the size up between the different plugs is manageable, so there’s not too much of a shock moving between the plugs. Once I can comfortably enjoy one size, I also like to use it to warm up before trying the next size up and this set it perfect for that!

Our tester, Peter, was very impressed with the set, writing “Both myself and partner loved them.” He found them “ideal for long and short periods of use” and “happily wore the medium during the day” with no discomfort.
