Why I Chose It
Kate, who tested the Bombex butterfly vibrator for us, were in for a surprise.
Her initial impression of the Bombex was that it “looked bigger” than she had thought judging from pictures online – which is typical for most people buying sex toys online.
However, it proved to not be her biggest surprise. During a solo session she was surprised that “within 5 minutes this vibe made me squirt hard”, and she says even reaching orgasm usually takes 20 minutes, and she had not had a squirting orgasm “happened during solo play” before.
For good reasons, it’s become her “all-time favorite solo session toy”, while “during couple sessions, it’s a bit awkward to use”, Kate says.
She only had one major concern, which is the fact that it only has one “one button to control the settings”, and as with any vibrator that is button controlled, it’s better with the option to cycle back and forth, and not have to cycle all the way through.
She thought the “the silicone is the softest out of any of the toys I already have” and loved that the there is “hardly a peep from the Butterfly Desire Vibe Pro”.

Why I Chose It
The big thing about insertable butterfly vibrators is that they can give dual orgasm, by stimulating both the clit and g-spot at the same time.
So, when I learned that Cassie, who tested the Lovense Dolce, had finally found a vibrator that could give this too her despite having “always been skeptical of dual vibrators”, I simply had to include it here.
She had been scared away from the classic anatomically non-diverse rabbit vibrators (a thing I often see with testers trying non-flexible rabbit vibrators is that they never really ‘fit’ just right). This is solved by the genious bending/flexible mechanism of the Dolce, which is firm enough “so once you’ve found an angle that works for you, that baby will stay in place”.
Despite still not being “super easy for me [her] to achieve”, Cassie did say that “the orgasms with the Dolce are pretty amazing”.
She also “loved the interactive feature, and had a blast letting my partner control my stimulation”. The Lovense App used by the Dolce, and a bunch of other Lovense products gets amazing feedback and reviews from all of our testers.
She did have some trouble “getting to know the functions of the two buttons on the head itself” and learning which one controlled which motor (quickly making the Lovense App the go-to control method).
Best for Beginners Dame Eva Hands-Free Clitoral Vibrator
- Made to be hands-free and fit inside labia
- One of the smallest vibratos out there
Vibrations
Specifications
Pros
- ✅ Small and flat — perfect for use during sex
- ✅ Hands-free design
- ✅ Adjusts to different body shapes
Cons
- ❌ Very buzzy vibrations
- ❌ Loud
- ❌ Can be hard to put in place
- ❌ Can slip out of place when you move
Why I Chose It
This uniquely designed, hands-free couple’s vibrator from Dame is the perfect addition to either especially partner play and definitely doesn’t feel like three’s a crowd.
But as an expert I’ll say the buzzier vibrations that Rachel, who tested the Dame Eva, reported about is better suited for beginners. As she said, it’s “probably the most buzzy vibrator I’ve tried”.
Despite the downside in terms of vibrations being buzzy, this is because you can’t fit a rumblier motor inside such a small vibrator, which is the reason it fits perfectly during for example missionary and without any straps can keep itself in place just by pushing against the labia. And, as Rachel said, it “took missionary sex to a whole new level”, making the small size invaluable and perhaps a worthy compromise for buzzy vibrations.
To Rachel’s surprise she found the design actually worked and “stayed put without too much trouble”.
She did have one problem, “actually pressing the button when the Eva is in position”, as she said that when you “use a bit of force to press it down, it often moves the Eva out of place“.
Budget-Friendly Svakom Erica

Vibrations

Pros
- ✅ Affordable price
- ✅ Quick to set up and easy to use app
- ✅ Flexible body

- ✅ Beginner-friendly size
- ✅ Beautiful packaging
Cons
- ❌ Buzzy vibrations
- ❌ Won't fit most bodies
- ❌ No dual-motors
Why I Chose It
Out of all the things the Svakom Erica comes with, what I’m most impressed about is how Svakom managed to keep the price for all this, this low.
Of course, that meant there most be other areas where they compromised, the lack of a second vibration motor is one of them.
Kasia, who tested the Svakom Erica, did say that the vibrations are “quite strong, and quiet, and they got the job done”, but she also did have her fair share of difficulty getting adequate stimulation for her clit.
This is for one due to the lack of a second motor, but also the lack of adjustability of the clitoral arm (like I found with the Lovense Dulce).
Second, the shape also doesn’t allow for pressure to build on the clit, although Kasia did “try using the Svakom Erica as a wearable vibrator, and it passed the test”.
Overall, Kasia did also note that the “vibrations are focused more on internal stimulation”, and she loved it for that.

Types of Butterfly Vibrators
- Classic – A classic one is defined as a hands-free version that is held against your vagina (with straps or by the wings). A good example of that is the Dame Eva.
- Remote control – Works with remote control, and could therefore be used in public both alone and with a partner. The best remote control butterfly vibrator that we recommend is the Lovehoney Venus Butterfly.
- With Penetration – Do stimulate both internal and external. So in its simplest form, it’s inserted into your vagina. The Venus Butterfly G-Spot Vibrator is a great example of this.
What is so Special About Butterfly Vibrators?
With so many different types of vibrators and stimulators on the market, it can be difficult to know what they do and which one is best for you. Here is a quick explanation of what a butterfly vibrator does!
Puts your clit in the spotlight
The glorious clitoris, small but mighty and overlooked for so long. But, no more! It’s finally time to put your clitoris in the spotlight. Butterfly vibrators are just one of many toys designed specifically with clitoral stimulation in mind and with good reason!
With 80% of women unable to reach orgasm without clit stimulation a butterfly vibrator “understands” this problem.
The clitoris has a high number of nerve endings, making it one of the most sensitive erogenous zones and a powerhouse of pleasure and for many women, clitoral stimulation is the main route to reaching orgasm.
How does the butterfly help with this?
While the clitoris extends inside the body, butterfly vibrators work by applying delicious flicks, flutters and vibrations to the part that sits outside of the body.
Butterfly vibrators often feature a butterfly with a body that vibrates and presses against the clitoris with antennae that sit around the clitoris and wings that envelope the labia for intense stimulation either alone or with a partner.
Remote VS No Remote
When it comes to picking a butterfly vibrator, there are a couple of different types to choose from.
You can opt for a classic hand-held butterfly vibrator, a wearable butterfly vibrator, or even a remote control butterfly vibrator!
The best option for you will depend on your personal needs, and whether or not you’re going to be using your butterfly vibe solo or with a partner.
If you’re looking to get some clitoral vibration during sex, you might find that a wearable butterfly vibrator corresponds more to your needs.
On the other hand, if you want to enjoy some fun power play with your partner, you might prefer a remote-controlled, Bluetooth butterfly vibrator to spice things up between the sheets (or elsewhere!)
Regular Strap-On versus Butterfly Strap-On
Strap-ons are a great addition to your and your partners’ pleasure.
Whether it be penetrative sex, power play, oral or gender affirmation.
Strap-ons are usually designed to be worn and used on a partner, however, newer designs have focused on direct physical stimuli for both parts.
So what are the differences between regular strap-ons and butterfly strap-ons?
Regular Strap-Ons
- Designed to be worn and used on another person than the wearer
- Often associated with BDSM
- Can be used by all genders
Butterfly Strap-Ons
- Designed to provide stimuli to both parts
- Intertwines the dominant and submissive roles
- Most are designed to be worn by vagina owners
- The butterfly is oftentimes used to stimulate the wearers’ clitoris
