Scandal Lovers Tape Review
My Verdict
The Scandal Lovers Tape is a great alternative to traditional restraints and was super simple to use. However, it's also half the width of most other bondage tapes, which can be useful in some situations, but for me, it was most often a slight annoyance.

Personal Experience
Bondage tape was not something I had really considered using before I was offered the chance to test a roll. However, I’d seen it online before, and was intrigued about how it worked. When I received the Scandal Lovers Tape, my immediate impression was that it was much smaller than I had imagined. Most bondage tape is around two inches wide, the same size as a roll of duct tape or parcel tape. This one, on the other hand, is more like a roll of regular Scotch tape. I didn’t know if that would result in the tape digging into the skin more, or if it would actually make it more versatile!
Trial and Error
I knew immediately that my partner and I were going to need a bit of practice before we could use this bondage tape in a sexy setting. We started out with tying my wrists together in front of my body, and it took a couple of tries before we could bind them tightly enough. It’s very difficult to rip this tape, so you’ll need a pair of scissors on hand to cut it to size. Then, we tried it out for real, with my wrists behind my back this time. My partner found it hard to get the tape around when I couldn’t lift my arms very much, and also forgot that he could use both sides of the tape to secure it, so we ended up abandoning it on the first attempt. However, later attempts were much more successful, and I thought the tape was actually pretty hard to wriggle from if tightened enough. The only issue was that, since the tape is narrow, it can easily compress down and dig into the skin. You have to use a long length of tape and wrap a wide area to stop this from happening. I did want to try restraining myself or my partner to some furniture as well, but I realized that, since our headboard and dining chairs are made from fabric, we don’t have a lot of options there. You’ll further down in this review that, searching for places to take demonstration photos, I ended up tying myself to our stair bannister!Design
The PVC does have a slight sheen to it that looks like vinyl or latex, if you enjoy that look. Personally, I think I would have preferred the black option over red, but both do have that 'BDSM' vibe. The biggest issue with the design, though, is the fact that it's only one inch wide.
Ease of Use
I definitely recommend getting some practice in with the Scandal Lovers Tape before you bring it into the bedroom. Since it's not like traditional tape, it can take a bit of time to get used to wrapping it around, getting it tight enough, and making it stick. However, once you've got the hang of it, the tape is pretty easy to use.
Quality
This tape looks and feels relatively well-made, but it's certainly not a luxurious item. The roll is pretty small, but it's also sturdy and not easy to break without scissors.
Price
The Scandal Lovers Tape is around the same price, if not slightly cheaper than most other bondage tapes out there. However, you also get much less tape compared to other brands. If you know you're going to want to use your tape a lot, then I would go for a different option, but if you're a beginner who wants a small amount of cheap bondage tape to test the waters, I think this is a great one to go with.
Performance
This tape has pretty positive reviews online, including those who prefer the smaller width because it's better for more complex restraints or latticework. However, that's not something that my partner nor I are into, so we would have preferred a larger width for more traditional wrapping restraints. However, it did perform what it promised to do, and secured itself fairly well!
Packaging
The packaging for the Scandal tape was very basic and not something I had any interest in keeping. It's just a simple clear, plastic bag with a cardboard topper. However, this kind of product doesn't really require a storage bag, so there's no reason why you can't just rip into it and throw it away.
Materials and care
This bondage tape is made from 100% PVC, which is sturdy and waterproof. Since there's no adhesive, it won't dry out or become unsticky with use, and you can reuse it over and over again until the tape becomes too stretched out to stick to itself.
