My Verdict
I'm pretty impressed with the Sportsheets Saffron Breathable Ball Gag. It's a great fit for adventurous beginners who aren't quite ready for something as restrictive as a non-breathable ball gag. It feels nice and comfortable to wear without any irritation around the corners of the mouth. Comfy, Cute, & Beginner-Friendly!
I really like the sleek, monochrome design of the Sportsheets Saffron Breathable Ball Gag. I’ve also always wanted to try a breathable ball gag to see how it feels different from an o-ring gag or regular ball gag. When I tried it on outside of the bedroom for the first time, I was really surprised at how comfortable it was! The ball is the perfect size for beginners who still want a proper mouthful, and the three holes make it super easy to breathe properly. The silicone also feels really smooth and comfortable. I also personally prefer using 100% porous materials for anything that goes in my mouth for total peace of mind in terms of hygiene. When it was put to real use, I noticed that it didn’t quite muffle any sounds as much as I thought it would. However, I think it looks and feels great on for some kinky aesthetics, and would work well for drool play!The Sound of a Sub?
One thing I did find quite puzzling about the Sportsheets Saffron Breathable Ball Gag was the little sound it sometimes made. Now, this didn’t happen all the time. Perhaps it had something to do with the placement in my mouth, the angle, or the amount of saliva invovled. Once in a while, I would hear the slightest whistling noise as I breathed through the holes in the ball gag. I don’t know if this just is a regular occurrance with breathable ball gags. I love the all-black design of the Sportsheets Saffron Breathable Ball Gag. I just think it makes it look really sleek and put together! I like how the short silicone straps on either side of the ball helps protect the corners of your mouth from any chafing or rubbing against the actual straps. I'm also a fan of PU leather giving it that classic BDSM look that we all know and love!
My User Experience
I'd say the Sportsheets Saffron Breathable Ball Gag is fairly easy to use. Once you've figured out how to place it and how tight you want it, using it is a breeze! The loop buckle also makes it easy to lock up. While I think it's beginner-friendly, it's still quite a mouthful. I would suggest complete beginners to warm up properly and use it for shorter amounts of time at first.

It really did live up to my expectations in terms of comfort, aesthetics, and practicality. The only thing that was a bit unexpected was the subtle whistling sound that sometimes happened if I was breathing through my mouth at certain points. Although, I don't think this will keep me from using it in the future at all. If it does happen again, it will just be friendly reminder for me to breathe through my nose!

The packaging for the Sportsheets Saffron Breathable Ball Gag was nice and fairly simple. It's not the most subtle packaging since there is in fact a big ol' picture of a very nice lady holding up said ball gag. Not very discreet as you take in down to the recycling bins on the street... just saying. Not inspired by real events whatsoever... So, keep that in mind! But I like the packaging, since the box is nice and sturdy and has a bit of additional information on there. Best of all? The velvet-y drawstring storage pouch!

The Sportsheets Saffron Breathable Ball Gag has a 100% non-porous silicone ball. The metal hardware is nickel-free and the straps are made PU leather. You can wash and rinse the silicone parts with warm water and a mild soap or sx toy cleaner. You can also sterilize the silicone parts. The straps, however, you should wipe down with a damp cloth. Be careful not to submerge the non-silicone components completely in water.
