Lelo Dot — Test & Review
My Verdict
I definitely think the Lelo Dot has added something unique to my bedside collection! It is great for foreplay or exploring multiple orgasms. It's not going to give the same intensity or depth of orgasm as other more broad, rumbly toys, but I like to have the variation and love using the slim tip to explore where I'm most sensitive. It's also great for days where you don't want anything too knock your socks off intense!

My personal experience with the Lelo Dot
I was a little bit unsure about the Lelo Dot, not only do I usually prefer broad rumbly clit vibrators like the Doxy Die Cast or my favorite suction stimulator the Lelo Sila, but I was also a bit skeptical of the whole oscillator thing in general and whether it would feel that much different from vibrations. However, I have absolutely loved using the Dot!
Does it feel different from vibrations?
So when I first tried the Dot I thought there wasn’t that much difference to a slim vibrator and on a sensation level, I still think the difference is pretty subtle. Rachel had previously tested another oscillator, the Zumio X, and didn’t think it felt that different from standard vibrations. However, I think the addition of the flexible tip is what makes a difference with the dot, as combined with the oscillations, it does create more movement against your clitoris. I also discovered that if you hold it lightly against your clitoris, it creates an almost teasing tickling sensation, which I actually really enjoyed, much to my surprise! I also found it was easier to notice a difference in sensation when holding the tip vertical to my body, rather than laying it flat, which felt more like standard vibrations and allowed for more pressure. The Dot is also great for some teasing foreplay and feels great when stroked up and down the labia.Magical Multiple Orgasms
One of Lelo’s claims for the Dot is it’s multi-orgasmic powers, allowing you to keep going without getting numb. I am lucky enough to be able to have multiple orgasms fairly easily anyway, but I did find the Dot was particularly good for this, as the small tip allows you to target exactly the right spot and avoid any bits that feel overwhelming. I would say the orgasms aren’t the most intense as they are much more on the surface of the clit but they still feel fantastic!A closer look at the Design
The Lelo Dot has an unusual but rather elegant design. I like the teardrop design, although it kind of reminds me of a fancy candle lighter. It's one of those toys where everyone goes 'oh it kind of looks like...' but they never say sex toy! The discreet design is great if you accidentally leave it out in view! I have the aqua model but it also comes in a light pink or lilac version. The finger loop handle is actually pretty useful and comfortable to hold and makes it easy to hold the Dot in different angles.
My User Experience Unveiled
The Dot has Lelo's signature three button interface — increase and decrease power buttons and an on/off button that also scrolls through the patterns. Once you get a feel for which button is the + and which one is the - the Dot is relatively easy to use. The symbols on the buttons are also raised which is handy if you have impaired vision. The only thing that I've found a little tricky with the Dot is finding and maintaining the right position. As the stimulator head is so small, it's easy for it to slip out of the sweet spot, which can be annoying if you are just getting close to the big O. I also love that it has a pin charger and not a magnetic one, as it is much more secure.
Review of the Quality
The Dot lives up to the great quality you would expect from a luxury sex toy brand like Lelo. The silicone is buttery soft, there are no loose pieces, and it doesn't get hot during use. The battery life is also great with a minimum of 2 hours play per charge and the charge holds really well. I've used it quite a lot and not had to recharge it all yet!
Affordability Check: The Price of Lelo Dot
The Lelo Dot comes with a pretty steep price tag which I would say is maybe a little high. That being said, if you know you love pin point stimulation or you have the budget and want to try something new, this is a fantastic sex toy!
How does the Lelo Dot Perform
While I think there is a noticeable difference between regular vibrations and the Lelo Dot, it is subtle. However, it does feel VERY good! The lower settings feel quite rumbly and the higher settings are definitely on the buzzy side, but in a very pleasant way! The tip is very soft and flexible which means you can press it against your clit quite comfortably, although you shouldn't put too much pressure on as it could damage it. And, big bonus, it is in one of the quietest sex toys I own, so it's really great if you are looking for a discreet toy that won't wake the whole house! The lower settings are just 20 dB and the highest setting reaches around 30 dB and that's going to be even quieter if you use it under a blanket.
Unwrapping Excitement: A Packaging Review
The Lelo Dot comes in Lelo's signature classy black box with gold details that leaves in doubt that you are getting a luxury product! The clear front gives you a great view of the product but if you didn't already know this was a sex toy, it could be hard to guess as there's nothing on the box or in the design of the toy to give it away. It's also a nice sturdy box for those who prefer to keep their toys in the box rather than the bag included.
Exploring the Materials and Care of the Lelo Dot
As with all Lelo toys, the Lelo Dot is covered in lovely soft silicone, with a shiny ABS plastic accent on the finger grip, both of which are body-safe and non-porous. It's also 100% waterproof, so you can clean it with fragrance-free soap and warm water before and after each use. There is seam between the shiny ABS plastic and the silicone so be sure to clean this as lube or bodily fluids can get stuck in there. When it's fully dry, pop it into the storage bag ready for next time!

Lelo Dot vs. Zumio X
Lelo Dot and Zumio X are both top clitoral stimulators. The Lelo Dot has a unique design with a long vibrating stimulator, whereas the Zumio X instead of vibrations uses fast, circular motions. While Lelo Dot achieves an overall score of 4.5/5.0, Zumio X doesn’t lag far behind with a commendable 4.2/5.0. As for the Bedbible rating, the Lelo Dot has a slight edge with 4.6/5.0 over Zumio X’s 3.8/5.0. Each is renowned for its design and user experience, though the Lelo Dot shines in design, boasting a perfect score of 100/100. In comparison, Zumio X holds an impressive 85/100. The Lelo Dot offers eight vibration modes, and it is waterproof, while Zumio X stands out with its unique 8 rotation speeds. The biggest difference between the Zumio X and the Lelo Dot is the type and power of the stimulation. The Lelo Dot provides gentler, more beginner-friendly vibrations rated at 40/100 in terms of power, whereas the Zumio X is all about powerful rotating patterns scored at 100/100. On the other hand, the Zumio X is much louder than the Lelo Dot. If you are looking for extra powerful clitoral stimulation the Zumio X is a better choice, however, if you are new to precise stimulation or you prefer a gentler clit stimulation, the Lelo Dot is the better choice.Lelo Dot vs. Eroscillator 2 Top Deluxe
When you compare the Lelo Dot to the Eroscillator 2 Top Deluxe, you find two strong contenders. The main difference between these two products is the unique stimulation they offer. The Lelo Dot features a long, rounded tip that provides very precise stimulation, whereas the Eroscillator 2 has a bigger tip that “oscillates” rather than vibrating, which for some users creates a sensation that is deeper, more satisfying, and less numbing than traditional vibration. The Lelo Dot sports an overall score of 4.5/5.0, while the Eroscillator 2 manages a close 4.4/5.0. The Bedbible seems to be more fond of the Lelo Dot with a 4.6/5.0 rating, surpassing Eroscillator 2’s 4.3/5.0. Design-wise, Lelo Dot emerges as the clear victor with a perfect score of 100/100, dwarfing Eroscillator 2’s 60/100. While Lelo Dot impresses with eight vibration modes, the Eroscillator 2 offers three vibration speeds.Lelo Dot vs. Fun Factory Volta
The Lelo Dot is a clit vibrator with a long and thin rounded tip for very precise stimulation and the Fun Factory Volta has two long vibrating tips that flutter together to simulate the sensation of oral sex or tongues. The Lelo Dot secures an overall score of 4.5/5.0, while the Fun Factory Volta trails with 4.0/5.0. The Bedbible rating slightly favors the Lelo Dot at 4.6/5.0 against Volta’s 3.5/5.0. From a design perspective, both hold their own, with Lelo Dot securing a flawless score of 100/100 and the Fun Factory Volta managing an 85/100. The Lelo Dot boasts eight vibration modes, whereas the Fun Factory Volta comes with six vibration patterns. Both sex toys provide unique and highly stimulating experiences, but the Lelo Dot offers a deeper and more satisfying time. Its design also feels much more luxurious. On the other hand, if you are looking for something more budget-friendly, or you are not into pin-pointed clit stimulation, the Fun Factory Volta might be a better option.FAQ
