Why I Chose It

With grinding toys becoming more and more popular these days, I had a lot of choice when it came to picking our test winner. Luckily, once I read Vern’s review of the LaBae grinder from Uberrime, I knew that it was the best of the bunch!

This gorgeous palm-sized grinding pad is made from top-quality, platinum-grade silicone that’s both soft and firm at the same time. Vern described it as “flexible enough to squish like a stress ball and firm enough to grind on for stimulation“. They loved its supreme softness, and found it so satisfying to use by itself or in tandem with a wand vibrator. One thing they did find, though, is that it feels best with lube — stick to a water-based option to avoid damaging the silicone.

The top looks like a heart-shaped vulva, which both Vern and I just adore. As well as being a satisfying texture to grind on, Vern found that “using it feels like I’m scissoring someone without the awkwardness of the right angles on another person’s body“. If you’re someone who enjoys or is interested in scissoring (also known as tribbing), I think this could be a great place to start.

As someone who’s tried grinding with different toys before, I appreciate the compact size. It makes the LaBae perfect for using with a cushion or pillow, or placing inside a strap-on harness. Then, once you’re done, you can store it away easily and discreetly, rather than having to find a place for a large grinding pad.

Why I Chose It

Personally, I can’t live without some extra vibrations when I’m grinding. I’ve tried a few out, but most have been lacking in the power and/or comfort department. However, when Edie tried out the Ride N’ Grind from Inmi, her verdict was that it is simply “sheer perfection“!

The thing I was immediately drawn to about this toy is the soft, textured silicone surface. Edie and I were on the same page here — she called it “soft, smooth and perfectly squishy“. She found that the texture felt fantastic to grind against, with “plenty of bumps“. These factors make grinding on this bad boy a treat that’s both pleasurable and comfortable. The vibrations are somewhere between a buzz and a rumble, and while I personally prefer a very rumbly motor, Edie really loved the sensation.

Edie mentions in her review that her disability can make it difficult to straddle and ride on toys, but the height and remote controls of this toy were exactly what she needed. The base of the toy is also weighted to prevent it from tipping over, even on soft surfaces like your bed, which is a smart touch that I hope more toy makers adopt.

Why I Chose It

Recognize that issue? Vern, who tested out the Bumpher from Banana Pants, knows the feeling all too well, and was excited to find a solution in this neat little toy! While I haven’t had the opportunity to test out a strap-on myself, I’ve seen my fair share of harnesses and have been surprised with the complete lack of padding that most provide. The Bumpher can help, with a hollow design and open back that you can slide onto any dildo with a flared base.

Made from silicone with a “cushiony soft feel“, it makes harness-wearing tons comfier, and can even provide some vulva stimulation thanks to the prominent central ridges. This does depend on your anatomy, however, as Vern found that “it didn’t add a lot of stimulation… unless I was pressing really hard, which isn’t as comfortable“.

Of course, the Bumpher can also be used as a slightly cheaper alternative to traditional solo grinding toys! Since it’s hollow, I recommend bolstering it on a pillow or stuffing it with something soft to stop it collapsing under you. You could stick it on a dildo during solo play and alternate between rubbing it against your vulva and penetrating yourself with the dildo!

Why I Chose It

Where are all my power queens (and all other royalty) at? I had to include a toy in this review to satisfy the power-hungry, and that toy is the Fun Factory Laya III. Sarah, who wrote our review, found that “the motor is powerful enough to provide intense pinpoint arousal” and is “quiet enough to be discreet, yet powerful enough you may not be able to keep quiet” — high praise indeed!

The Laya III has a curved shape that allows it to hug the body, reaching all the parts of your vulva that deserve attention. Alternatively, you could also use it curved away from you to help apply more pressure where you want it, since the firmness means it won’t give way beneath you. In my experience with grinding toys, I’ve found that toys that are both firm and flat often leave some areas out, so this feature is so appealing.

The silicone is textured to provide a little extra stimulation when it rubs against you, but there is also a smooth area on the underside so you can choose whichever you prefer. Of course, you may prefer more prominent textures, but since the vibrations on this thing are so strong, some slight ridges may be more than enough to satisfy. Sarah also found that the texture made the toy “easy to hang on to when things get really slick“, which is a great feature for those with grip issues.

Why I Chose It

If you’re anything like me, then squishiness is close to the top of your grinding toy wishlist. Iroha understand, because they created a gorgeously soft and squishy grinder in the Iroha+ Kushi. I actually tested out the original version of this vibe, but then they went and released a new version, which Vern took for a test run.

When reviewing this toy, they mentioned that they just couldn’t “get over how soft and squishy the Iroha+ Kushi is! I love the design of this toy, from its simplistic one-button system to the soft silicone, and especially the squishy tip and ridges“. I feel similarly — both the top and the tip of the Kushi have a deep squish to them, which is just so satisfying to sink down into or press into the clit.

The Kushi has surprisingly strong vibrations for such a small toy. Vern found that “most vibrations are in the tip“, though I’ve found in my usage that they transmit quite well through the back too, in a more diffuse way. They aren’t the rumbliest vibes in the world, but they are deep enough to feel super satisfying and not tickly at all.

As they experimented with this toy, Vern discovered that grinding is a truly perfect way to enjoy it. In their own words, “As a fat person with some issues with wrist mobility, I sometimes had trouble finding the perfect angle to fit the vibrator against my body. However, with the use of a pillow underneath me if laying on my stomach… the toy was a lot easier to manage“.

Why I Chose It

“When I grind on the VibePad 2, I get to enjoy vibration across my entire vulva and have my clitoris warmed up and licked simultaneously. It is wildly pleasurable.”

To me, that sounds perhaps as close to heavenly as you can get down here on Earth! This is what Sarah discovered when she tested out this grinder. She had actually already used the first VibePad, but found that the warming function and the moving tongue “improved the concept of the original and create a more pleasurable user experience“.

Face-sitting, or queening as it’s sometimes called, is a pretty fantastic experience, most of us can agree. But, what about when it’s not an option? The VibePad 2 is a fantastic replacement, with its “quick, fluttering” silicone tongue. Unlike other tongue vibes that Sarah has tried, this one was “smooth, soft and flexible, and it adapts to the weight of your body in a comfortable and pleasurable way” rather than feeling sharp or mechanical. You can also pair this with the vibrations, which Sarah described as “more rumbly than buzzy“. The one thing that was slightly annoying for her was that you really have to position yourself correctly to get the tongue in the right place.

Sarah also loved how the heating function of this grinder was spread out across its whole surface, which added to the pleasure offered by the smooth, soft silicone. The one thing I would point out, though, is that the two ridges are rigid and not cushioned, which might be off-putting if you’re like me and enjoy more squish.

Why I Chose It

I had the honor of testing the Ruby Glow Blush myself, and it was actually the first purpose-made grinder toy I ever tried. What first intrigued me was the idea of having a remote-control grinder that I could also use in other ways — since grinding isn’t the only way I enjoy masturbating, I think it’s nice to get more for my money!

This toy comes with a ‘wand’ that you can use like a dildo or a g-spot vibe, as well as a cradle that you can place the wand inside of and ride. As a grinder, the two bumps on the wand provide body-hugging clitoral and perineal stimulation, and as an insertable toy the curve at the end of the shaft allows you to find your g-spot more easily while the second bump acts almost like clit-stimulating rabbit vibe!

The body is very rigid and un-cushioned, which I have mixed feelings about. It works well when you insert it, and if you want to have a lot of firm pressure when you grind, but it can also hurt me sometimes, too! Personally, I think I prefer a bit more squish, like with the Iroha Kushi.

Then, we get to the vibrations. There are actually two separate motors in the Blush, and the one in the tip is both powerful and relatively rumbly — perfect! The bottom motor, however is a bit weaker and is much buzzier. However, I don’t think this is too much of an issue because it works well enough with just the top motor if you’re put off by more tickly vibes.
