Design

I love the Melt 2 design. We-Vibe has striking toys styles and colors that distinguish them from other brands, especially the ones in their signature purple color. The Melt 2 is similar to the original Melt, with a thin body that can easy fit between two bodies, in one's hand, or beneath one's body to grind on the toy. It's lightweight, smooth to the touch, and all around gives a luxurious feel to the experience of using it! I'm a big fan of the button placement and the varying textures of the buttons as well, making them more accessible in the heat of the moment. Plus, it's hard for me to find clit stimulators that have a wide enough opening to fit my own clitoral length and thankfully the Melt 2 is perfect for that. Overall, I enjoy the design!

Ease of Use

The We-Vibe Melt 2 is generally easy to use. The controls are easy to get ahold of and differentiate from one another. Sometimes, the buttons get a little sticky and you have to click them a couple of times to get them to change to the setting you want them at. Additionally, the smart silence setting has a learning curve. Supposedly, when turned on, the toy only vibrates when it is pressed against your body and will turn off when pulled away. This does work at times! However, if there is any pressure to the tip of the Melt 2 then it will keep vibrating. When it works, it's great! I love this feature and admire how unique and useful it can be. This is especially great for someone traveling who needs to be extra sneaky, or if they have roommates and thin walls. However, occasionally it doesn't quite work the way intended, and the button can be easy to accidentally press when distracted.

Quality

Personally, I think the quality of the We-Vibe Melt 2 is not as good as its previous model. I see this in the very seams of the silicone, in how it wasn't trimmed down and there are some dents in the body of it. While the Melt 2 is very quiet, and the features are cool, it's just not a powerful motor. My first emotion trying out the toy was disappointment because of that. At the same time, it gets the job done, so how bad is it, really? I'm just picky, the Melt is my favorite toy of all time, and it did me well as my daily until it finally stopped working. And, maybe I'm just spoiled by my Magic Wand! The Melt 2 is still a sturdy and reliable vibrator, despite its finicky tendances with its features. For those who have been wanting to try a clit stimulator but have been worried about the power of them, maybe this would be a good starter for you.

Price

When you order a Melt 2, you get the whole We-Vibe package. You get a gorgeous box, a fun brochure of instructions to get the most out of the toy, a charger, the toy in pristine condition, and a toy bag!!! The bar is in the basement, and when a toy company sends me a toy bag, I get beyond excited. I haven't had a toy bag from We-Vibe before either, so this was a pleasant surprise! Personally, the price point is on the higher end of my preferences. I would not purchase this toy for this price knowing what my own preferences are for motors and functionality. However, if you can afford it (currently around $160 on the We-Vibe site) and you want to have a luxurious, regal experience with a solid vibrator, then this is for you. I'm sick of everyone hyping up the Rose toy, treat yourself to something with good quality, a nice warranty, and fun features.

Performance

I know I sound like a record player at this point, but the performance of the We-Vibe Melt 2 is my only big hangup on the toy. The motor is just not where I wanted it to be! Otherwise, everything else performs fairly well. It's comfortable between mine and my partner's bodies during sex, and it's easy for me to hold or grind on when I'm alone. The vibrations feel nice, and I like the patterns. I've always admired the We-Vibe app and would love all the new app features if only the motor were strong enough to make them memorable (like making the toy vibrate to music or using your finger to swipe along the screen in order for it the toy to vibrate faster, like a video game). The Melt 2 is VERY quiet, which I love, and when the smart silence feature works then it's a perfect toy for traveling with! I also enjoy the battery runtime; it lasts about two hours and has an hour and a half-long recharge time. Not too shabby, especially compared to some of my other toys.

Packaging

The packaging for the Melt 2 is a classic We-Vibe style. I love it, personally! When I used to work in an adult store, I always gravitated towards showing customers the We-Vibes first because of their pastel and rich purple coloring, their smooth silicone, and super pretty packaging. I love the information on the sides of the box, giving insight into how the Melt 2 enhances sex with your partner. Additionally, the back of the box has a graphic showing how to use and hold the toy. Inside of the box, there's another graphic giving information about the We-Vibe app. It's informative, sleek, and not too in-your-face! I personally love the packaging.

Materials and care

If there's one guarantee with We-Vibe, it's that they have great quality silicone that is body-safe. The Melt 2 is lightweight and good quality. While I wish the edges were a bit better trimmed to have a more finished seam, that's just me being nitpicky. (They're such a big and successful company I really feel like they could take the time to do that but whatever! What do I know!) The We-Vibe Melt 2 is fully waterproof, so feel free to take this into the bathtub for some good good self care! Make sure to clean it with gentle soap and warm water, or your favorite toy cleaner, as recommended by We-Vibe. Lastly, the Melt 2 is easy to store thanks to its super cute toy bag! Did I mention I'm super excited for the toy bag? I'm REALLY excited for the toy bag.

Special feature

I had used the We-Vibe app before, but wowee did it get an update! For those who play long distance there is chat and call capability! Whether a voice call, a video call, or just good ol’ sexting, you and a partner can use the Melt 2 together in a fully immersive way. I was super surprised by this, and love that you can add multiple partners to the toy as well (though not to play all at once, just multiple profiles to bounce between). Unfortunately, the long-distance feature is pretty buggy and has extra trouble when the smart silence feature is turned on, but hopefully with time it’ll get more updates and improve from there! When it worked (probably 50/50 chance, maybe a little less), it was really fun and unlike any toy app experience I’ve had before.
