We are going to get stuck right in with what you came here for — how to stimulate your g-spot, and how to have a g-spot orgasm.
If you want more information on the g-spot and how to find it, scroll down the extra information section at the end of the article.
But before we dive in at the deep end (pun intended), here are some tips to help you in your g-spot adventure.
- Make sure you are fully aroused. When you are aroused, your g-spot swells, making it more sensitive and easier to find.
- Don’t focus solely on having an orgasm, and enjoy the sensations along the way.
- Be patient with yourself and your partner.
- Relax and breathe deeply to release your pelvic floor muscles.
How to Stimulate Your G-Spot Using Your Fingers
Ok, we’re keeping it simple with the first technique.
All you’ll need is your fingers and a bit of patience!
Using your fingers can be less intimidating than a toy, and it is easier to control the pressure and motion of the stimulation.
How to stimulate your own g-spot using your fingers
It’s easiest to do this lying on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the bed.
Once you are feeling fully aroused, you can insert a finger or two into your vagina and curl them upward towards the front wall of your vagina.
Come hither…
The classic motion that most people will have heard of is the come hither motion, in which you stroke the g-spot in a repetitive rhythm.
You can also experiment with other strokes, such as circles and different levels of pressure. Just like us, each g-spot has different preferences.
It can be difficult, so consider using either a simple g-spot vibrator.
How to stimulate a partner’s g-spot using your fingers
Essentially, this is the same technique but from a different angle!
You want to insert your finger or fingers partially into their vagina and start with the come hither motion.
Once you have found the right spot, you can experiment with speed, pressure, and movement to find out what works best.
Communicating with your partner about what feels good here is key!
When you’ve found the magic movement keep going at a consistent pace and watch them wonder at your orgasmic, rhythmic abilities.
How to Stimulate Your G-Spot with Sex Toys
Next up is how to use dildos and vibrators to stimulate your g-spot.
G-spot sex toys are usually curved, have a bulbed tip to help you get the right angle.
They are often made from more rigid materials including firm silicone, metal, and glass. Before you gasp in horror at the thought of something that cold and hard in your most sensitive areas, the rigidity is fantastic for deep g-spot massage.
Pro tip: You can warm glass or stainless steel dildos up by placing them in warm (NOT HOT) water before using.
Using g-spot dildos or vibrators saves your or your partner’s fingers from getting tired halfway or even worse, just as you are close to finishing!
How to use a G-Spot Dildo
The aim of the game here is to massage the dildo back and forth against your g-spot, so you might find a rocking motion rather than a thrusting motion works better for you, and you want to focus on the first three-four inches of your vagina.
Here’s my top pick for g-spot dildos made from metal, glass, and silicone. If it’s your first time using a g-spot dildo, you might want to opt for the silicone option.
Metal: The Njoy Pure Wand
The Njoy Pure Wand is possibly the most iconic g-spot dildo. This sleek, silver beauty has also earned itself the moniker of the squirting dildo. With two ends to choose from, you decide how intense you want your g-spot stimulation. The curve also makes it incredibly easy to rock back forth, hitting your g-spot every time.
Glass: Lovehoney Beaded Sensual Glass Dildo
The glass dildo Lovehoney Beaded Sensual Glass Dildo gives you plenty of ways to explore g-spot stimulation. Experiment between using the bulbed wand or the s-shape wand with a more dramatic curve to discover which pleases you the most. The bumpy textures can also feel fantastic moving across your g-spot.
Silicone: Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Silicone Dildo
While it is still firm enough to achieve some deeply satisfying g-spot massage, the Desire Luxury Weighted Curved Silicone Dildo has slightly more give in it. This is a great option for people who are new to g-spot stimulation or anyone who enjoys more gentle g-spot stimulation.
How to use a g-spot vibrator
Much like g-spot dildos, g-spot vibrators are uniquely shaped to take the mystery out of finding your g-spot. They come with a dazzling array of patterns and vibration intensities to help you get the winning combination.
You can experiment with constant vibrations pressed against your g-spot and massaging movements to see which works best for you.
Here’s my pick for a luxury g-spot vibrator…
The Lelo Gigi 2 G-spot Vibrator
The Gigi 2 from LELO will treat your g-spot like orgasmic royalty! The flat tip is specifically designed to help you locate your g-spot and deliver intense vibrations. It also makes a pretty awesome clitoral stimulator too!
And my pick for a budget-friendly option…
The Lovehoney Power Play G-Spot Vibrator
The Power Play G-Spot Vibrator from Lovehoney has curves in all the right places and 7 vibrating functions to choose from.
Sex Positions to Stimulate Your G-Spot
To stimulate the g-spot during penetrative sex, either with a penis or a strap-on dildo, you want a position that will maximize the stimulation of the front wall of your vagina. This can involve trying out new angles, shallower penetration, or adjusting your legs to get a tighter fit and increase the friction.
But that’s not all…
Instead of thrusting in and out, create friction over the g-spot by using rocking, grinding, and circling movements.
Here are some new twists on the old classics that can add a little more g-spot pleasing action to penetrative sex.
Laid Back Cowgirl
This classic riding position only needs a small tweak to make it a g-spot grinding wonder position! Instead of sitting upright or leaning forward, the partner on top can lean backward, putting their hands on their partner’s legs for support. It’s easy for the partner on top to adjust the position until they find the angle where their partner’s penis or strap-on is moving back and forth over their g-spot.
Puppy pose
Doggy style can be a great way to give your partner access to your g-spot, especially with shallower penetration. This is a variation of the doggy style position that involves the partner being penetrated bringing their chest and arms to the floor or bed (or wherever you are getting busy) and keeping their butt high. They can also bring their legs together for a tighter feeling.
Spooning
Ah, the cozy socks and cup of tea of the sex position world! You can still get that g-spot action in the spooning position. The partner being penetrated can experiment with different leg positions, such as bringing their knees up towards their chest or crossing their legs over to find the best way to stimulate their g-spot.
Blended Stimulation
So maybe you’ve had a lot of fun trying out these techniques, but you still haven’t found what you’re looking for! Maybe you’ve found your g-spot and enjoy the stimulation, but it’s not enough to reach an orgasm. Fear not! Blended orgasms are here to save the day, and you won’t be disappointed.
But did you know…
Although we call this dual stimulation, the g-spot and clitoral glans (the small round external part of the clitoris) are both parts of the bigger clitoral structure.

Blended stimulation with a partner
Receiving dual stimulation from a partner is like getting the royal treatment. Combining oral clitoral stimulation with g-spot stimulation, using a dildo or fingers makes for some intensely satisfying sensations.
The receiving partner can lie on their back with their partner between their legs. The giving partner can then use their mouth and tongue to stimulate their partner’s clitoris and surrounding vulva while simultaneously using their fingers or a toy to massage their partner’s g-spot.
What is the G-Spot?
If you’re looking for how to find the gspot, and how to stimulate it, it’s probably a good idea to know what it actually is.
The g-spot is named after scientist Ernst Gräfenberg, though he didn’t actually study the g-spot himself. There’s a lot of debate about who really ‘discovered’ it, and what exactly it is, but one of the most accepted theories came from urologist Helen O’Connell in 2005.
Her research suggests that the g-spot is not technically a separate part of your anatomy. It’s a part of the ‘internal clitoral structure‘, which encompasses the visible clitoris (called the clitoral bulb or glans), as well as a much bigger internal structure that reaches down around the vagina.
The vagina itself is surrounded by the clitoral body, of which the g-spot is a part. This whole structure is highly sensitive, and can feel incredibly pleasurable when stimulated through the vagina.
So, when you’re trying desperately to find the gspot, remember that it’s not a magical spot that makes a woman instantly orgasm. It’s a part of a whole clitoral network, and you can stimulate different parts of it and feel great.
Where is the g-spot?
You can find the g-spot on the front wall of the vagina, about 1-2 inches inside.
Exactly where it is will depend on the person.
Some people’s g-spot feels different from the rest of the vagina.
You may feel a change in texture, like a spongy or softer area. However, many people don’t notice any change in texture or feel.
Google maps can’t help you here, but I’m 100% sure that’s a good thing!
Every vagina is unique, meaning that everyone’s g-spot is in a slightly different place.
Some people notice a difference in texture where their g-spot lies and others don’t. You might also notice that you have the sensation of needing to urinate when you stimulate your g-spot due to its proximity to the urethra.
How to find your g-spot:
- Ensure you are fully aroused.
- Insert a finger or two a few inches into your vagina
- Curl your finger upwards towards the front wall of your vagina (towards your belly button)
- Start looking for a change in texture or sensation as you use the come hither motion to stroke the inside wall.
- You may find that your g-spot is off to one side, so explore the whole area.
How to Find the G-Spot with Your Fingers
The easiest, and perhaps most intuitive way to find the gspot is with your fingers.
It allows you to feel around inside the vagina, using any texture cues to help you locate the right area.

Here’s an easy 4-step method to use…
Step 1: Lube Up Your Fingers
Whenever you’re masturbating with your fingers (or pleasuring a partner), lube is a pretty vital step.
It prevents friction and discomfort in and around the vagina, and makes every sensation better! Even if you’re already wet, add some extra lube.
Check out our lube guide to see the benefits of different lube types, or, if you’re still not sure, stick to a good water-based lube like Sliquid H2O.
Step 2: Get Aroused
The first rule of fingering isn’t ‘don’t talk about fingering’, it’s ‘don’t go straight for the vagina’!
Take some time with your lubed up fingers to explore the rest of your vulva, as well other erogenous zones around your body.
Stimulate your clit in whichever way feels best for you, which will help you get really wet for later.
Step 3: Use a Come Hither Motion
When you’re ready, gently insert one finger into the vagina.
Feel around for the g-spot around 1-2 inches in, but don’t poke or prod too much!
When you think you’ve found it, curl your finger towards the front wall of the vagina. Think about reaching towards the belly button to find the right side. Then, use a ‘come hither’ or beckoning motion to stroke the g-spot.
Step 4: Try More Fingers
If you’re craving a fuller feeling, you can try using two or three fingers.
Use the same come hither motion, or experiment with other stroking motions like wiping the pad of your finger over the area. Different strokes for different folks, as they say!
It’s a good idea to keep applying more lube as you play. Water-based lubes can dry out quite quickly, and finding the gspot can take some time.
Tips for Finding Your Partner’s G-Spot
If you’re trying to find the g-spot on someone else, you can still follow the steps above.
However, since you can’t feel the sensations you’re creating in the same way, here are some things to keep in mind as you’re fingering…
- Communicate as you go. Ask your partner what they’re feeling as you do different things, and encourage them to tell you if they’d like you to do something specific.
- Go slow and gentle. Unless your partner tells you otherwise, it’s always a good idea to be gentle with the g-spot and vagina. It’s a very sensitive place!
- Deeper isn’t always better. As we discussed earlier, the g-spot is only one to two inches inside the vagina, which means you probably don’t have to insert your finger as far in as it will go.
- Stroking over thrusting. Oftentimes, stroking motions can stimulate the g-spot a lot more than traditional thrusting motions. Try to keep your finger(s) in contact with the area as much as you can.
How to Find the G-Spot with a Toy
Of course, your fingers aren’t the only tool in your g-spot pleasuring toolbox!
There are plenty of sex toys out there designed specifically to find the gspot. You can find a huge variety of g-spot vibrators and dildos in online sex toy stores, most of which share a few common features:
- Curved shaft — a shaft that’s curved will help you reach the front wall of your vagina and thus find the g-spot easier.
- Bulbous head — a large, bulbed head will make the maximum amount of contact with your g-spot.
- Firm body — while not the case for all g-spot toys, many are made from hard materials like steel or glass, or have a solid internal body to allow you to apply more pressure on the area.
Sex Toys That Your G-Spot Will Love
njoy Pure Wand
The Pure Wand from njoy is known as the ‘squirting wand’ for a reason!
This double-ended dildo is a heavy one, made from stainless steel that provides very firm stimulation that your g-spot will adore.
There are two sizes of bulbous tip to choose from on each end, and the curved design makes it easy to reach that front wall of your vagina.
Dame Arc
If you like vibrations internally, check out the Dame Arc. Made from super soft silicone, it’s a breeze to insert and delivers deliciously rumbly vibes.
Along with its curved shaft and large tip, the Arc also as a slightly squishy tip and ridge that allows you to try out broader and more precise stimulation on both your g-spot and your clit.
Lelo Ida Wave
The Lelo Ida Wave is a kind of rabbit vibrator, even though it might not look like one!
It has a flat, wide base that nestles against your vulva to provide rumbly clitoral stimulation, and a wide tail that curved inside the vagina to find your g-spot.
Best of all, the tail uses Lelo’s Wavemotion technology to create a ‘come hither’ motion in the shaft!
Lovehoney Curved Silicone Dildo
There are also plenty of harness-friendly g-spot toys available. One of our favorites is this curved dildo from Lovehoney.
It comes in a variety of sizes from 5.5-9 inches long (this is the 8 inch version). The shaft is smooth silicone with a pronounced head, and it has a strong suction cup at the base.
If you’re using it in a strap-on, you’ll want the curve to face towards the front of the body. In doggy-style, that’s downward, but in missionary it’s upward.
How to Find the G-Spot During Sex
A big part of the secret to stimulating the g-spot during penetrative sex is down to finding the right angle.
Often, just thrusting the penis (or dildo) in and out isn’t enough. Try to find a position and angle that allows it to make prolonged contact with the g-spot and really rub up against it.
Here are some ideas and positions you can use to find that perfect angle…
Use a Sex Wedge
Of the easiest and most effective upgrades you can make to your sex is to lift up the hips of the receiver. This creates more of a 45º angle to allow the penis to make more contact with the front vaginal wall.
You can use normal pillows, but they tend to flatten and move easily. Instead, try a purpose-made sex pillow like the Liberator Wedge, which is made from sturdy high-density foam.
The Leaning Cowgirl
The cowgirl position is already a favorite of many vulva-owners out there, but one simple trick can make it even better!
When you’re on top, lean back, placing your hands on the bed or on your partner’s thighs to steady you. This will, again, make more of a 45º angle and will allow the penis to naturally find the gspot.
Cowgirl is also great as it allows you to control the speed and depth of penetration.
Spooning
Another great position for finding the g-spot is spooning. Lay on your sides and cuddle up to each other, then have the penis or dildo penetrate from behind.
As well as a great angle, having sex while spooning also makes you feel pretty tight, and makes their penis feel wonderfully deep and filling inside of you. It’s a win-win!
G-spot Trivia
Now you have the knowledge you need to enjoy g-spot stimulation both solo and with a partner, here’s some cold, hard knowledge to impress your friends with or use in a pub quiz.
And remember with great knowledge comes great responsibility — a responsibility to educate everyone of the wonders of the glorious g-spot!
- If you’ve ever wondered what g-spot stands for, you are not alone. The ‘g’ in g-spot stands for Gräfenberg, the name of a physician who researched urethra’s involvement in female pleasure.
- You might be thinking, this is great if you’ve got a vagina but where is the male g-spot? Penis owners have a small gland called the prostate that can be stimulated anally or externally through massaging the perineum (taint).
- Another common question is what does the g-spot feel like? Some people find that their g-spot is firmer or has more of a bumpy texture than the surrounding area, but this varies from person to person and some people might not have any noticeable differences.
